Hunger Never Takes A Vacation - Summer 2023 Newsletter

Summer may be vacation time for many, but here at PACS, we are dedicated to providing our neighbors healthy food all year round. Through our Retail Rescue program, we collected almost 180,000 lbs. of food from May through July. Our devoted volunteers sort all of this food by hand and distribute it to our Market (formerly known as the Daily Pantry) and to other agencies we support.

Did you know that our partners provide us with fresh produce, prepared meals, breads, desserts, etc. each and every week?

Acme, Chester County Food Bank, Giant, Kimberton Whole Foods, Lidl, Redner's, Trader Joe's, Wawa, Wegmans, West Chester Food Cupboard

Thank you to all who allow us to provide more sustenance to our neighbors and reduce food waste!

We love showing visitors our facility

We had the pleasure of giving a tour to Chester County Commissioner & Board Chair Marion Moskowitz. Although she has visited us before, this was a great opportunity to share with her all of PACS’ future infrastructure plans with her.

Volunteer of the Quarter - Arleen Boruta

“Kindness and happiness go together, one feeds off the other. We might not always feel happy, but a kind gesture, given or received, will always bring a smile and be remembered.” -Arleen

Arleen has one of the biggest hearts of all of our PACS' volunteers. For the past 13 years, she has provided kindness and compassion to everyone she meets. As a Market assistant, she helps guests find the foods they need and feel welcome as they come through our doors. Arleen loves to talk to our guests, learn their stories and see how PACS makes an impact on their lives. She believes that even the smallest acts of kindness can make someone’s day just a little bit brighter. | To learn more about Arleen, visit our website.
